Caitlin (she/her) received her master’s degree in Social Work from Boise State University and is a Registered Associate Social Worker supervised by Jill Rees, PhD. while working towards licensure. Caitlin’s clinical approach is rooted in social justice and equity, and supporting the LBGTQ+ community. Caitlin’s previous experience working with individuals and families in equine training taught her the value of compassionate individualized approaches, and she carries that lesson into her clinical work.
As a school-based youth mental health provider in Sonoma county, Caitlin believes the best way to help young children is to support the important adults in their lives, and enjoys collaborating with caregivers, schools, and other service providers for a holistic and inclusive approach. She believes that when each individual in a family has their needs met and feels safe, a harmonious family life is possible. Caitlin’s approach is gender and neurodivergence affirming, strengths-based and systems focused.
In addition to her education and training, Caitlin’s personal experiences with adoption, developmental trauma, parenting, neurodiversity, and challenging behavior in young children brings her a deeper understanding of her clients’ experiences and needs. Caitlin works with children and teens from a neurodiversity affirming stance, and believes that individuals are not only the experts of their own experience, but that they can be trusted to know what they need to feel safe and comfortable.
Caitlin advocates passionately with autistic and other neurodivergent folks in both her professional and personal life, and is experienced in navigating the special education system, both as a parent and as a professional. Caitlin and her wife are adoptive parents to two young children and live in Santa Rosa.
