Laura Castro

Laura Castro, PsyD, LMFT #145842

Laura (she/they) is a licensed marriage and family therapist who specializes in supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ teens, adults, partners, and families as they navigate individual challenges, identity exploration, relational challenges, or healing from trauma. Her work is deeply rooted in attachment theory, and she uses a systemic approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of relationships and environments.

Laura has extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals, relationships, and families. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting (BSP), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is a Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician (NATC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-I; CCTP-II).

Laura is a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). She also serves as an adjunct professor in a graduate-level marriage and family therapy program, where she prepares the next generation of marriage and family therapists.

Laura is a queer, biracial woman, a disabled military veteran, and the parent of two queer children. Her journey has profoundly informed her therapeutic work. She is passionate about creating inclusive, affirming spaces for all clients and is dedicated to supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, partners, and families through their personal and relational challenges.

Prior to a career in mental health, Laura served 21 years in the U.S. Navy.
